I’ve been watching Dan Gagen’s work for a few years now. I’ve loved pieces from several of his series, but it wasn’t until the last day of my recent visit to Indiana that I made it to his gallery and actually purchased a painting.
Here he is with the Noble County, IN inspired dreamy landscape that I brought home with me. (Good thing I brought Hydra’s large hard-sided suitcase.) Now it’s in the library/ music room where I write most mornings…without the plastic wrap, obviously!
Who knew when we were in Spanish class years ago that he’d own Noble Gallery and I’d be in California doing what I do? We commented about how the building the gallery is in was a lunch place when we were in high school. I pointed to to where the booth was that I ate french fries and a Coke in last time I was there (1979?) and he pointed to where he had his first cheeseburger.
If you’re in the area you owe it to yourself to check out the work on display. Dan showcases artists other than, and is very easy going and interesting to talk to about the items in the gallery.
